Herend in the Mirror of the Hungarian Sea

Herend in the Mirror of the Hungarian Sea

2025. July 5.

An exclusive Herend porcelain exhibition opened in Balatonalmádi at Kerényi Imre Kult-Magtár.

At the opening ceremony, László Bercsényi, Mayor of Balatonalmádi, Dr. Attila Simon, CEO of Herend Porcelain Manufactory Ltd., and Károly Kontrát, Member of Parliament, welcomed the guests.

The central location of the exhibition features 8 giant, nearly 1-meter-high Venetian carnival figures, on a special pyramid installation. The two laid tables represent the combined presence of tradition and innovation, with classic and modern Herend decoration as well as the development history of two well-known patterns, Apponyi and Rothschild, emphasizing and contrasting this duality, which is also the Manufactory’s creed. All of this is completed by a few objects related to Lake Balaton.

The exhibition can be viewed until August 1, 2025, from Monday to Friday, between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m.
